Ludovica Rossi Purini

Born in Rome, Italy, Ludovica Rossi Purini graduated summa cum laude in 1992 from the University of Rome La Sapienza with a thesis in constitutional law.

After practicing the legal profession for a few years at Ferrovie dello Stato S.p.A. (currently Trenitalia), in the legal sector and at the University of L´Aquila as an assistant teacher of criminal law, she devoted herself to the development of cultural and social activities, honing her professionalism through organizing and serving as artistic direction for events, both in Italy and abroad, and through associated fundraising campaigns and international relations activities.

From 2002 to 2005 Purini was Vice President of The Rome Chamber Music Festival at Villa Aurelia, created in collaboration with the American Academy, and played the role of Artistic Director for concerts held by the Bernini Quartet at the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art, as well as for contemporary art events held at the American Academy of Rome.

In 2005, Purini founded in Rome the Cultural Association "Compagnia per la Musica in Roma," created with the aim of promoting the city's cultural and musical life. She served the Association in the role of Artistic and Organizational Director, creating approximately 60 cultural events in the eternal city inside theaters, museums, concert halls, schools, prisons, hospitals, private and public foundations, and art galleries. For this activity she received numerous awards, including the European Personality Award 2012, issued by the Mayor of Rome.

From 2006 to 2012, Purini was artistic director of the September Concert event, which organized concerts at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome and exhibitions on the theme of peace at the Central Museum Montemartini and the Capitoline Museums. She collaborated with such renowned artists as Lorin Maazel and Claudio Abbado and with such prestigious institutions as the National Academy of Santa Cecilia, the New York Philharmonic Orchestra and the organization of the G8.

In 2010 and 2011, Purini held the position of Organizational and Artistic Director for the official opening of the 150th-year celebrations of the Unification of Italy in the U.S., creating a cultural event of great resonance at the Italian Embassy in Washington, DC with the orchestra of the Petruzzelli Theater in Bari, conducted by Maestro Lorin Maazel. She also collaborated with CBS Entertainment and the American Foundation Project Rebirth in 2011 for the distribution in Italy of the documentary film, Rebirth.

In May 2012, Purini curated the events commemorating the 20th anniversary of the death of Giovanni Falcone for the Italian Embassy to the U.S. in Washington, DC. As artistic and organizational director responsible for communication, she created a photographic exhibition with a catalog publication for Gangemi Editore and a musical event.

In November of the same year, the collaboration with the Center for Italian Studies began on the occasion of an important conference on Giovanni Falcone and his legal and moral heritage, which was attended by important institutional figures (including the future President of the Italian Senate Hon. Pietroy s Grasso) and prestigious players from law enforcement. Subsequently, Purini was invited to become part of the Advisory Council of the Center with the task of guaranteeing cultural exchange with Italian institutions.

From 2012 to 2013, Purini served on the board of directors of the Barattelli Society of Concerts in Aquila and began a collaboration as a columnist on the American monthly Italian Journal on topics related to Italian art and culture. She was subsequently appointed to the Board of Directors of the La Quadriennale di Roma Foundation, and joined both the Advisory Board of the World Policy Institute and the Board of Directors of the Ostia Antica Archaeological Park.

In 2015 Purini joined the Advisory Board of the World Policy Institute, an independent American think tank of world political analysis with the task of developing collaborative relationships with similar institutions in Italy and in the Balkan area.

In December 2016 Purini joined the Board of Directors of the Ostia Antica Archaeological Park. From 2017 onwards she has dealt with cyber security and cybercrimes by actively collaborating with the Deputy Prosecutor, Stefano Dambruoso, in the organization of an international conference held in the Chamber of Deputies in June 2017 and in the drafting of the contribution (signed by Dambruoso) on cyberterrorism by religious matrix included in the "Cybercrime" legal treaty, published by Utet Giuridica in 2019.
