 James Martino joined IPP in 2015. He is a Licensing Associate working with various departments in the fields of engineering and physical sciences and collaborates closely with Stony Brook University's faculty to evaluate, protect, market, and partner their innovations.

Outside of his role at IPP, James has been involved with IEEE for many years, currently volunteering as the Chair of Student Activities and the Vice Chair of the IEEE Long Island Section. James has also served as an advisor for various startup programs and hosted a number of lectures relating to intellectual property and licensing.

James is a registered United States patent agent and holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, as well as an MBA from Stony Brook University. In addition to his academic achievements, he has a background in sales and marketing from his previous role at an engineering firm and experience building and operating a number of startups of his own.
