    Director of iCREATE  David Ecker is a dynamic, exciting, and lively professional who has a passion for driving this space into a community of innovation that will transform ideas from the SBU campus community into real life prototypes using cross disciplinary collaboration.  David is the Director of the iCREATE and coordinates strategic planning, events, and all day-to-day operations at the facility. He is also a Adjunct Faculty member in Engineering, Honors College and associated areas.
  • Michael Ospitale
    Assistant Vice President of Customer Engagement and Support Michael Ospitale is a information technology leader with 17 years of professional experience directing and managing large scale student services and enterprise networking organizations and operations. Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver on strategic vision, organizational leadership, and technical implementations. Previously managed a full service IT organization which included help desk operations, application development, and systems admin, in support of a $68 million dollar student residential housing operation as well as led the transformation of the campus network environment at Stony Brook University.

    Manuel London
    Dean of the College of Business Dr. London is Dean of the College of Business and Director of the Center for Human Resource Management. He holds a joint appointment in the Department of Psychology. Dr. London’s career spans his professorship at major research universities including the University of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana and Stony Brook University.   As a practitioner and consultant, Dr. London has worked on program development and publications in the areas of performance management, feedback, managing marginal performers, and the manager as coach and developer.
  • Robert Kukta
    Robert Kukta
    Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies in the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences  Robert Kukta uses his experience as an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at SBU to develop innovative undergraduate programs centered on experiential learning. Through social entrepreneurship and the fusion of engineering and art, Kukta will develop and implement plans that increase graduation rates, retain students, and expand diversity in our student body. Kukta received his PhD in engineering from Brown University and joined SBU following his postdoctoral work in applied mechanics at the California Institute of Technology. In 2007, Kukta received the NSF’s prestigious CAREER Award and his current research focuses on the mechanics of carbon nanotube networks and the self-assembly of nanostructures. Kukta is currently on the Board of Directors for the Long Island Forum for Technology and he is active in a variety of K-12 STEM initiatives.
  • Anne-Marie Schedit


    Director of Economic Development Ann-Marie Scheidt is Director of Economic Development and Adjunct Assistant Professor of History at Stony Brook. She chairs the University’s Tenant Selection and Review Committee, the Long Island Regional Incubator Council and the Business and Economic Development Committee of the Long Island Women’s Agenda, co-chairs the Business Development Committee of the Hauppauge Industrial Association, and is Vice Chair of the Community Development Corporation of Long Island, the region’s largest not-for-profit affordable housing and community development agency. She is Vice President of Women Economic Developers of Long Island and the first full-term female member of the Brookhaven Industrial Development Agency.
  • Patricia Aceves
    Assistant Vice President of Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) Patricia leads a team of professionals in the expansion of online undergraduate education, developing policies and procedures around curriculum delivery, educational and multimedia technologies, learning space innovations and student evaluations of teaching. Their faculty development events serve over 1000 faculty annually. She has effectively worked with teams of faculty, administrators and technology leaders, constructed programs, sought and gained funding and used my skills in networking, collaboration and conflict resolution to build consensus and meet objectives.
  • Susan Scheckel  
     Faculty Representative  Susan Scheckel is committed to showing that education in the humanities provides invaluable training in the acquisition of real-world skills. In a world that sometimes overlooks the importance of the humanities in its enthusiasm for STEM, Scheckel is a fierce advocate of experiential learning — practical training often associated with the sciences — in the fields of arts and humanities. She partnered with Marianna Savoca, Director of the Career Center, which provides students with access to experiential learning. She then decided to make her own classes into laboratories.
