Social Events

Attendees will be able to attend both a Welcome Dinner on the evening of Sunday 27th September and a Conference Banquet on the evening of Thursday Oct 1st.  Both of these events will be held on the Stony Brook University campus.

Recognizing the proximity of the conference location to New York City there will be no organized excursions involving the whole conference.  Rather, Wednesday afternoon and evening have been left free for attendees to experience New York as they wish.  There are rail connections to NYC from the edge of the University campus and a Coach connection from the center of the campus.  Both of these means of travel into the city are relatively cheap.  New York City is packed with opportunities that are available for attendees to explore including museums, theatre, Broadway shows, hundreds of restaurants spanning all ethnic varieties and countless other opportunities.

The Conference can also arrange for groups to visit the wine district on the East end of Long Island.  The area hosts 47 different vineyards, many award winners.  Such a trip can be a delightful and relaxing event.
