Mayor of Yokohama Japan comes to Stony Brook

The Office of Global Affairs (OGA) invites you to attend a special lecture by the Honorable Fumiko Hayashi, Mayor of the City of Yokohama, Japan.

As the first woman to be elected as mayor in Japan’s second largest city, Mayor Hayashi has implemented extensive initiatives to promote economic growth, tourism and the arts, sustainable development, as well as women’s empowerment. Prior to taking public office, Mayor Hayashi served as President of BMW Tokyo, Chairperson and CEO of The Daiwei, a large Japanese retailer, and President of Nissan Auto Sales.

Mayor Hayashi has been included in the Wall Street Journal’s 50 Women to Watch, Forbes Magazine’s World’s 100 Most Powerful Women, and Fortune Magazine’s 50 Most Powerful Women in Business: International.
