Global Training Programs

This semester, the China Center is hosting two delegations as part of its Global Training Program, which provides short-term training and certificate programs for education institutions, businesses, and government agencies.

Partnering with the School of Nursing, the China Center provided a two-week comprehensive training program to a delegation of nursing professionals from Anhui Medical College. The group heard from nursing faculty on a variety of topics ranging from the health care system and policy in the U.S. to trends in nursing education. The delegation was able to participate in a classroom observation, tour a local health clinic, and have a discussion with a panel of Stony Brook nursing students.

In November, a delegation of health administrators from Henan Province will visit for a week-long program on how the U.S. health care system manages infectious diseases and public health initiatives. In addition to meeting with Renaissance School of Medicine and Program in Public Health faculty specializing in infectious diseases and public health, the group will also hear from the New York State Department of Health and Suffolk County Department of Health Services.
