Ilana Shanks received her Ph.D. from Florida State University. She is currently
an Assistant Professor of Marketing in the College of Business at Stony Brook University.
She examines how the presence of advanced technology, and more specifically robots,
in the marketplace impacts consumer’s responses and behaviors.
Ilana’s research has been published in the
Journal of Marketing Research
Journal of Consumer Affairs
, and the
Journal of Purchasing and Supply Management
Before pursuing a doctoral degree, Ilana worked for an ultra-high net worth private
wealth management for twelve years including five years at UBS Financial Services
and seven years at Merrill Lynch.
