Extension of Pilot Telecommuting Program

We are pleased to announce that the Pilot Telecommuting Program has been extended until March 21, 2022 for PEF-represented employees and until June 30, 2022 for all others.  The telecommuting program continues to allow remote work up to 5 days per pay period or up to 50% of their obligation if they are part time. The terms of the pilot program can be found  here. As previously, participation in the telecommuting program is based on operational need.

Next steps and notifications…

●      Employees who are currently approved to telecommute may continue with their previously approved telecommuting schedule until June 30, 2022 (March 31, 2022 for PEF-represented employees), unless modified by their supervisor or extended by SUNY. Please note that the telecommuting arrangement can be changed with 30 days’ notice, as outlined in the Telecommuting pilot program.  The pilot program can be found  here. New applications are not needed.  

●      Employees wishing to modify the originally approved telecommuting request can access program details  here and should  complete a new application form.

●      If the department can no longer permit telecommuting or must adjust the originally approved schedule… An individual’s participation in the telecommuting arrangement can be modified, suspended or canceled at any time by management with 30 calendar days advance written notice to the employee where feasible and consistent with operational needs. Employees who have had an arrangement canceled or suspended may reapply 6 (six) months from date of cancellation or suspension. An employee may suspend or cancel their participation with 30 calendar days' advance written notice to their immediate supervisor/manager unless the immediate supervisor/manager agrees to a shorter period of time.
