Interests: Citizenship, Latinx Migration, Prison Abolition, Mass Incarceration.
My current research looks at how Puerto Ricans who migrated to New York in the 1960s-1970s were criminalized and racialized during the War on Drugs era. I am interested in ideas of citizenship, the concept of the “pseudo-foreigner,” and borderland scholarship as it applies to Puerto Ricans who live in the States. I am also interested in applying cultural studies and critical race theory to my research. I received my Bachelors from the University of Florida, and my Masters from the University of Georgia.
