Interests: Indigenous Histories; Local and Public History; Historic Preservation; Heritage Tourism; Architecture; Environmental History; Book History; Cartography.
My current research examines documentation and representation of Indigenous Peoples in sources chronicling regional history and in the classification and description of library collections. I am also tracing the re-imagination of beaches over time and how geographies have shaped history, the economy, politics, and culture. Another area of research interest is the convergence of local history narratives, historic preservation, and heritage tourism. My teaching activities center on historical research methods with an emphasis on primary source and archival literacies.
