CulinArt Selected as Stony Brook University's New Dining Provider

After an extensive national review process, the Faculty Student Association (FSA) Board of Directors has selected CulinArt as the new west campus dining provider for Stony Brook University.

CulinArt, a division of Compass Group, is a Long Island company headquartered in Plainview, NY. They rated highest overall in the review process based on their commitment to improve the campus dining experience. The new dining program will focus on providing fresh, quality meals as well as increasing variety and value.

Beginning in the Fall of 2017, students can expect the following:

  • Freeze on current retail pricing and dine-in door prices
  • More value with guest passes included with unlimited meal plans
  • Convert Roth Cafe into a retail location featuring new brand options
  • Meal exchanges for students with unlimited meal plans living in Roth and Tabler quads

The process to transition CulinArt as the new campus dining provider will begin on May 27th. For updates on the transition process, please go to To learn more about what's going on in dining in real time, follow @SBU Eats on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat. You can also submit questions and comments on our feedback form.

On behalf of FSA, I'd like to thank the review committee members for their thoughtful and thorough evaluation of the bids, especially the students, who not only brought rigorous analysis to the process, but also helped identify the most important attributes to a quality dining program.
