Timothy Wilcox

Timothy Wilcox received his undergraduate degree from Hunter College and a Graduate Certificate in Art & Philosophy from Stony Brook University. He is a Ph.D. candidate currently writing his dissertation, “Early Electronic Literature in the Romantic Tradition.” His research interests include subjectivity and imagination, building on studies in phenomenology and aesthetics, and this current project brings together his specializations in digital era literature and British Romanticism. He published an essay, “Embodying Failures of the Imagination: Defending the Posthuman in The Surrogates” in the collection Cyberpunk and Visual Culture (Routledge). He teaches 100- and 300-level courses in English literature (including online courses), often focusing on points of intersection between literature, science, and technology.
