Arsevi Seyran is a Ph.D. candidate with particular interests in poetry and poetics, who is presently writing a dissertation on John Keats and Elizabeth Bishop. Prior to enrolling at Stony Brook she completed an MFA in Creative Writing at the University of Oregon and taught there as well as at Bogazici University in Istanbul. She is the author of Quarter Past Terminal (Finishing Line Press, 2013) and has most recently presented her scholarly work at BARS (Cardiff, Wales) PAMLA (Honolulu, Hawaii) and the international conference on Elizabeth Bishop's Questions of Travel - 50 Years Later (Sheffield, England). Her chapter “'Giddily off into the Unknown’: Negative Capability and Naturalism in Elizabeth Bishop’s Poetics" is forthcoming in December 2018 from Liverpool University Press in Negative Capability: New Origins and Afterlives (eds. Michael Theune and Brian Rejack).
