Stop the Bleed Campaign
Stony Brook University Police's Office of Emergency Management has partnered with the Stony Brook Trauma Center and the MARO Regional Resource Center to present a life saving class to the Stony Brook campus community. Bleeding control for the injured is a class designed for people with little or no medical training. Class participants are trained to use life saving equipment such as tourniquets, gauze packs and hemostatic agents. There will be hands on simulations as a component of this class so that every participant had the ability to practice and feel confident in their new skills. The skills learned in this class can be applied to any mass casualty event the Stony Brook campus community faces.
