CEWIT2022: 18th International Conference on Emerging Technologies for a Smarter World went "live" in October!
The 18th International Conference on Emerging Technologies for a Smarter World (CEWIT 2022) was held in October 3, 2022 at the Center of Excellence in Wireless and Information Technology (CEWIT) at Stony Brook University. The Conference was co-hosted by IEEE, the world’s largest technical professional organization for the advancement of technology.
This year, after the long pause caused by the COVID pandemic, the participants from various areas of research, industry, and governmental organizations got together in person for a full day of discussions, talks and networking. Twenty expert speakers shared their experience and groundbreaking research in technology applications in artificial intelligence, healthcare, energy, supply chain, defense, and finance.
The conference included multiple plenary presentations showcasing the technological breakthroughs that shape the economy of the future. It culminated in the Healthcare Technology panel discussion moderated by Gil Bashe, Chair of Global Health of Manhattan-based multinational advertising agency Finn Partners. The panel included representatives of Stony Brook Medicine, the NYC-based Mount Sinai Health System, Melville-based global healthcare distributor Henry Schein and other high-level national and regional health-tech experts; they shared insider knowledge of tools and technologies of the new-era healthcare.
At the end of the day, the participants were invited to join the CEWIT lab tour, to explore the cutting-edge technology research in AI, 3d imaging and mobile computing, demonstrated by CEWIT and Stony Brook University scientists.
Since its founding in 2003, the Center of Excellence in Wireless and Information Technology at Stony Brook University has been organizing the annual CEWIT Conferences. The CEWIT Conferences have offered ground-breaking forums for the new times. The goal of the CEWIT Conference at large is to disseminate innovative solutions and research findings, to address major technical challenges facing the development of a smarter global environment. Throughout the years it has been fulfilling its mission to build connections between academia and industry, in pursuing the most effective and efficient means of securing a smarter world for us all.
