***Due to unforeseen circumstances, we are postponing the Stony Brook University Commercialization Conference scheduled for March 12, 2020.  Our intent is to reschedule the event in early fall - end of September, early October.  We will reach out to you with specifics of the event once it is scheduled. ***

Stony Brook University's Economic Development is hosting a Technology Commercialization Conference that will showcase potentially commercializable technologies created by Stony Brook University faculty, staff and graduate students. The audience will include: potential investors and investor groups from Long Island and the greater New York metropolitan area; companies that are potential licensees or strategic partners;  and individuals with experience or a strong interest in innovation. The conference will focus on three main areas: Information Technologies, Biotech and Healthcare, and the Energy sector; but no credible innovation will be overlooked.

The event is open to the public.  If you represent a company or an investment firm or are a private investor looking to invest, come see the next generation technologies. The first half of the event will be a series of "pitches" by individual presenters, followed by a Poster/Networking session where you can discuss projects with the innovators.

For those who would like to attend, the event is free, but registration is required.  Click here to register. If you'd like to present, please see application process below.

Submission of abstracts are open to all SBU Faculty, Researchers and Graduate Students.  If you would like to present your latest technological innovation at the conference for potential commercialization, you will need to submit the following:

  • Abstract, one page or less describing your innovation
  • The problem/need that it addresses
  • The nature and scope of the business opportunity, including potential customers
  • The competition (current solutions to the problem and their deficiencies)

To submit your innovation for consideration, please click here and complete the form.

All abstracts should be submitted by February 7, 2020.  You will receive a response by February 21, 2020.
