About the Center for Teaching and Learning in Community

The Center for Teaching and Learning in Community provides opportunities for Stony Brook University  to engage with the school districts in our Long Island communities to create, innovate, and engage with each other around the high quality of educational programming that Stony Brook is already known for.

The CTLC is organized according to four focus areas: Research & Scholarship, Professional Development, Educational Technology Research and Development, and Outreach & Strategic Partnerships.

From within these areas,  Center works with K-12 district and building administration, teacher centers, other universities, teacher training organizations, and individual teachers to provide research-based resources, support and training.
