COVID-19 Pooled Testing
We continue to enhance our testing resources and availability, making mandatory COVID-19 testing more convenient for our on-campus employees, commuter students, Hospital and clinical faculty members. We've been offering expanded testing sites, days and hours of operation and new forms of testing to help keep our campus community as safe as possible. Most recently, that includes switching over to the Stony Brook University Hospital (SBUH) COVID-19 Surveillance Laboratory's anterior nasal swab (ANS) testing at many locations. Non-hospital employees can use our self-scheduler tool to make appointments or simply show up at one of the sites listed on this page, while Hospital and clinical staff are invited to simply walk in to the Galleria for their testing during scheduled hours of operation.
In keeping with best practices, we continue to ask all employees and commuter students to get tested once a week – even if you're fully vaccinated.
Residential students – please find details for your required testing on this Student Health Services COVID-19 testing web page.

SBUH COVID-19 Surveillance Laboratory ANS Testing
We are in the process of switching from saliva pooled testing to anterior nasal swab testing at several of our testing sites. This specimen collection method is as comfortable and convenient as the saliva method and offers several advantages. For example, there are no pretesting restrictions around tooth brushing, eating or drinking; there's no more online pre-registration process; and, turnaround time on results is much faster (12-24 hours) as we are now performing testing at the Stony Brook University Hospital Laboratory versus upstate through the SUNY system.
SBUH COVID-19 Surveillance Laboratory ANS testing is being offered at the HSC and SAC test sites. Currently, we are still performing SUNY pooled saliva testing at one station in the SAC, at the Southampton test site and at other remote testing sites.

The Pooled Test COVID-19 Scheduler Tool enables employees to:
- View and reserve a convenient appointment time and select the most convenient of three locations.
- Identify appointment times when the testing schedule may be less busy.
- Receive a reminder email indicating appointment time and location.
- Simply choose a new date/time if there’s a need to reschedule.
Or, if you prefer, you can simply walk in, without a scheduled appointment.
How to Access the COVID-19 Scheduler Tool
All West Campus, HSC, Renaissance SOM (non-clinicians) and Stony Brook Southampton Campus State and RF employees are able to use their NetID/NetID Password to access the COVID-19 Scheduler Tool and reserve a testing location, date and time.
