Analytical Capabilities

The Center for Clean Water Technology has developed an extensive and unique suite of core analytic capabilities that are being used to advance understanding of the of nitrification/denitrification processes during wastewater treatment that will inform opportunities to refine and optimize wastewater treatment technology with the goal of making it more affordable, more effective in terms of nitrogen and other contaminant removal, and to have a smaller infrastructure footprint.

Access to the following facilities and equipment have been made possible through either purchase, or through sharing arrangements with colleagues in research at Stony Brook.         

Thermomechanical & Imaging Nanoscale Characterization

ThINC   is a core facility of the Advanced Energy Research and Technology Center. It is dedicated to establishing partnerships between Stony Brook University and industrial laboratories for enabling cutting-edge energy research and renewal.  It is a new comprehensive core for multiscale characterization and imaging, with facilities for sample preparation, imaging and thermo-mechanical characterization. It has PhD Scientists ready to run your samples and provide guidance in choosing the best solutions for your material-related problems.
