Lecturer Recruitment

The Department of Civil Engineering at Stony Brook University invites applications for an adjunct lecturer (temporary instructor position) to teach the course Senior Design II during the spring 2024 semester. This course is a project-oriented capstone to the principles and practices of civil and environmental engineering design. The course focuses on team projects under the guidance of faculty and outside industry mentors on relevant topics to civil engineering, e.g., structures, transportation, geotechnical, environmental, hydraulics, etc. Topics related to project management and engineering ethics are addressed within the context of the projects. Students are guided on the preparation of written and oral technical reports.

Special Notes: This is Non-Tenure Track position temporarty position to teach one class during the spring 2024 semesster. Continuation of the appointment beyond this term is subject to performance and the availability of funds. Applicants must have and maintain employment authorization to work in the U.S. (U.S. citizenship, permanet residence, or work Visa) without the need for sponsorship.  The anticipated start date is  January 11, 2024.
