Samir Das, PhD

Samir Das, PhD is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Computer Science at Stony Brook University.

Dr. Das received his Ph.D. in computer science from Georgia Institute of Technology. Earlier, he was educated at Jadavpur University in Kolkata, India, and Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India. He also worked briefly in Indian Statistical Institute. Prior to Stony Brook, Das was a faculty member at the University of Texas at San Antonio and then at University of Cincinnati. Das has been at Stony Brook from 2002.
