Christos Koutsoyannis, PhD

Christos KoutsoyannisChristos Koutsoyannis, PhD, is the Chief Investment Officer of Atlas Ridge Capital, an emerging quantitative hedge fund focusing on innovation in the areas of alternative data and scientific modeling. He is an Adjunct Professor at NYU Courant, and also on the Executive Advisory Board of Columbia Business School’s Program for Financial Studies and Masters in Financial Economics (MSFE). Prior to Atlas Ridge, Christos was a Portfolio Manager at AllianceBernstein (AB), a Senior Portfolio Manager at State Street Global Advisors (now State Street Investment Management), and the Deputy Head of Quant Research at Old Mutual Asset Managers in London (now Jupiter Asset Management).

Christos Chairs the Data Science and Quantitative Investment group at CFA New York, has been on the Program Committee of CFA NY, and is also the winner of the CFA NY 2024 Research Award and the CFA NY 2026 Ben Graham Distinguished Award. He has been on the Board of Directors of the Society of Quantitative Analysts (SQA) since 2013, is a recent Past President of the SQA, and the founder of the SQA - CEWIT alphathon.org. He was on the committees and Board of Directors of Inquire UK from 2005 - 2016. He also Chairs Trinity in New York, the Trinity College, Cambridge alumni association in New York.

Christos holds a BA Hons Economics from the University of Cambridge, UK, and a PhD in Financial Economics from Birkbeck College, University of London, UK.
