David L. Ferguson Scholarship

The David L. Ferguson Scholarship was established to honor the life and work of David L. Ferguson, former Department Chair and Distinguished Service Professor of the CEAS Department of Technology and  Society for his dedication and leadership in STEM education, his commitment to increasing diversity in STEM, and his extraordinary service to the University as Chair of the Department of Technology and Society.  Under this scholarship program, one scholarship will be awarded to a student meeting the qualifications below in the amount of $1,000.

To qualify for the David L. Ferguson Scholarship, interested students must:

A. Be enrolled as a full time undergraduate or graduate student in the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences for the full academic year (BOTH the fall and the spring semesters)

B. Maintain a cumulative grade point average greater than a 3.0

C. Demonstrate financial need as determined by The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarship Services

D. Preference will be given to students involved with the university's STEM Smart Initiative housed in the Department of Technology and Society

Interested candidates should submit the following documents:

1. A completed application form

2. A one-page statement outlining personal and professional goals relating to your major.

3. A resume

All scholarship awards are subject to renewal of the scholarship by the donor and receipt of funding for these awards.

If selected to receive this scholarship, you will be required to furnish this office with a letter of thanks to the donor of the scholarship. Details will be specified in the scholarship offer letter.
