Enhance Your Financial Literacy Skills

This online course explores the accounting and financial concepts to help professionals in non-financial roles become better users of financial information so they can be more strategic contributors to their organization. Participants will learn to understand and analyze financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. The emphasis is on revenue and expense recognition, capital expenditures versus operating expenses, and other key accounting concepts. 

Participants will examine internal controls, process improvements, planning, and budgeting. They will also learn about and apply financial tools to help make better decisions and improve profitability.  Other topics include strategic planning and budgeting, financial reporting, and analysis needed to make informed business decisions.  Through a combination of discussion, lecture, review of financial data, and illustrative exercises, students will gain basic financial skills needed to be effective in their respective roles within the business world.
