BAW introduces and reinforces some of the key analysis methods and tools used in the Business Analyst Role.  Today, most projects are cross-industry and cross-country.  The workshop teaches how to best use these methods to facilitate communication among customers, developers, analysts, management, product owners, subject-matter experts and project managers.  By speaking the same project language, all become true assets of the team, and ultimately, we can answer the question, “What must the project do?”

FOUNDATIONAL Business Analysis concepts of the connection and overlap between project management and business analyst roles are discussed.  Participants learn the tools and techniques to enable their facilitating the creation of the Business Case and Business Requirements documents. The project sponsors and other stakeholders use this information as the basis for deciding what the project is, who should be involved, and whether or not the project should actually proceed.

FUNCTIONAL SPECIFICATIONS: The workshop provides analysis methods for working with and eliciting requirements information, from users, subject-matter experts and other stakeholders needed to develop detailed functional specifications, including Use Cases and other Structured Analysis techniques.

TESTING: An overview of types/methods and the links from requirements to testing are discussed.

Since projects are almost always international, the workshop follows and reinforces the two global Business Analysis organizations and their best practices: PMI ® (Project Management Institute) PBA - Business Analysis for Practitioners Guide, and the IIBA ® (International Institute of Business Analysis) - BABOK ® (Business Analysis Body of Knowledge.)

Upon completion, participants involved with PMI ® and the Project Management Professional, PMP or the PMI-PBA, Professional in Business Analysis programs, are awarded 16 PDUs or Contact Hours.
