The first promotion to a management position is one of the most exciting times in an employee’s career and at the same time one of the most challenging and overwhelming transitions. 60% of first time managers underperform in their first two years. Moving into a management position requires a completely different skill set yet 85% of new managers receive no training before making the transition.

A great start makes all the difference! Essentials for Emerging Leaders was developed specifically to set the new(er) manager up for success by developing the mind and skill set needed to become an effective manager, develop a strong team and deliver greater results for your organization.

This workshop focuses on the skills of transitioning successfully to a manager, communication, coaching and delivering feedback, time management, hiring for attitude, developing trusting relationships, engaging team members, setting objectives and expectations, delegation, accountability and setting goals. The workshop is highly interactive and participants receive numerous tools that can be immediately applied back on the job. The workshop may be offered in a two full-day or four half-day format. Both the two-day and four-day workshop may be offered consecutively or with up to two weeks in between each workshop. This allows for on the job application and practice between each workshop.  All participants that successfully complete the course will be invited to private LinkedIn group for continued learning and best practice sharing.

About the Instructor:
