First impressions are often formed before a word is even spoken.  Great communicators know that body language and effective, clear speaking skills are crucial to conveying confidence and ensuring a good first impression.  

This course will provide participants with the training and tools necessary to improve their public speaking skills.

This course is designed to help you develop a voice that can be easily heard and better understood.  Captivate listeners with a voice that conveys emotion and enthusiasm.  Become a more effective speaker on the telephone, conversing one-to-one, and addressing small or large audiences.

Workshop Description:

Attendees will participate in a video assessment for self-evaluation.  This course will offer strategies and techniques to help facilitate:

  • Relaxation and Breathing Techniques
  • Vocal Quality
  • Adequate Loudness and Voice Projection
  • Appropriate Rate of Speech
  • Reduced Usage of Verbal Fillers ("uh," "um" etc.)
  • Vocal Variety (Inflection, Emphasis)
  • Enunciation/Pronunciation
  • Body Language

Who Should Attend:

Supervisors, managers, and staff professionals in a variety of fields including but not limited to Business, Finance, Engineering, Medical, Technology, Human Resources and Customer Service seeking to improve verbal communication skills.


Anne Marie Strauss M.S., CCC-SLP, Founder and President of iSpeak Clearly is a New York State Licensed Speech – Language Pathologist with over 20 years of extensive experience. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and has achieved the ACE Award for Continuing Education from ASHA. She is a New York State Certified Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped and a Compton Pronouncing English as a Second Language –Certified Accent Modification Trainer. Ms. Strauss is an LDS Preferred Trainer and has specialized training in Accent Programs Unique to the Medical Community.  Anne Marie brings innovative and creative methods to the corporate setting. Her experience includes working with individuals in a variety of fields, including finance, technology, journalism, human resources, sales, manufacturing, medicine and management. As a certified accent modification trainer, she customizes her instruction to the needs of each individual in order to maximize outcomes.
