First impressions are often formed with your first word.  Clients, customers and business associates will make determinations about your competence and confidence based not only on what you say, but how you say it.  Speaking skills are important for all communication- one to one, in a small group, presenting to a large group, on the telephone, or via webcam.  Great communicators know that body language; non-verbal communication and the ability to speak clearly are crucial to conveying confidence and ensuring a good first impression.

This course will provide participants with the training and tools necessary to improve their speaking skills.  It is designed to help develop a voice that can be easily heard, better understood and engage the listener with emotion and enthusiasm.

Workshop Description

Participants will learn the techniques to develop speaking skills that will ensure the listener will:

• Hear what they have to say
Relaxation and breathing skills, vocal quality, loudness and projection

• Understand what they are saying
Rate of speech, reduced use of verbal fillers (“uh,” “um,” etc.), enunciation / pronunciation

• Be engaged by their enthusiasm
