Dr. Cano investigates and attempts to characterize new phases of matter, crystalline structures, and electronic phenomena.

Dr. Jennifer Cano joins the College of Arts and Sciences from the Princeton University, where she currently holds a postdoctoral fellowship from the Princeton Center for Theoretical Science.  She will hold a joint appointment with the Flatiron Institute. Dr. Cano investigates and attempts to characterize new phases of matter, crystalline structures, and electronic phenomena. She is the author of 20 journal articles, including important venues such as the Physical Review, Science, and Nature.  She’s presented her work at numerous conferences and institute seminars.  Dr. Cano holds a BS from the University of Virginia and PhD from the University of California at Santa Barbara. Her work has been recognized through the prestigious Goldwater Scholarship, National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship, and Princeton John A. Wheeler Postdoctoral Fellowship.
