I am a fifth year PhD student in the Department of Hispanic Languages and Literatures. I have been a GSO senator and I currently work as a proctor in the Student Accesibility Support Service at SBU. I founded and lead the Café Latino Graduate Club, and have been recognized with the following awards and grants: PhD Works Professional Development Award for Inclusion and Equity SBU (2018); North East Modern Language Association (NeMLA) Graduate Students Caucus Travel Award; GSEU Professional Development Award (2018); Award for “Excellence in Graduate Teaching,” Department of Hispanic Languages and Literature (2018); Antonio Cao Travel Award, North East Modern Language Association (NeMLA, 2018); Distinguished Travel Award, GSO at Stony Brook (2018); Resource Access Project Travel Grant; GSO, Cervantes Society of America Graduate Student Travel Grant (2017); Teresa Shueren Award for Excellence in Tutoring by a Graduate Student; Department of Hispanic Languages and Literature (2017, 2015); and Tinker Grant (LACS at Stony Brook/Tinker Foundation, 2016).
