As Associate Dean for Operations and Facilities, Roger oversees College and budget planning, as well as facilities.  

A historian of rhetoric, Roger is the author and editor of eight books, including No Word for Wilderness (2018), which exposed the mafia’s exploitation of Italian national parks. He is also a central figure in Veterans Studies, co-authoring with Alexis Hart seminal texts in that field. Roger most recently served as Director for the College of Arts and Sciences Program in Writing and Rhetoric and is affiliated faculty with both the Department of English and the Center for Changing Systems of Power. He has worked under fellowship at Harvard, served as Senior Fellow at Syracuse’s University’s Institute for Veterans and Military Families, is senior editor for the fine art photography magazine Don’t Take Pictures, and is recipient of the Richard Braddock Award.
