When I became an academic peer advisor I learned firsthand how privileged I was as a traditional student and how pivotal education could be in changing our lives. I realized that it was my job to take my resources and pass them onto others. So I learned everything I could about academic policies and campus involvement only to later learn that there was even more to offer after joining the Dean’s Office. Not only have all of these opportunities been opening doors, they have also begun discussions that I’m confident will lead to improvement. “Usually one person doesn’t solve the problem, but one hundred people with one percent of the solution? That will get it done.”
