Hello, my name is Yashasvi Bajaj. I realized that I wanted to get involved at Stony Brook in a bigger way to make a difference in the community. I became the Event Coordinator for the SB UNICEF Campus Initiative on the eBoard. This past semester has by far seen the most improvement for UNICEF, both in terms of our organization with event planning, and our efforts to reach out to new members by creating a social media presence. I am a team player who also became a temporary New Member Coordinator for the SBU A Moment of Magic Foundation. The club's mission is ultimately to visit Children's Hospitals dressed up in superhero and fairy-tale costumes, and my membership in this club was an extension of my great passion for healthcare and pediatrics. I also decided to embrace my culture and spread it to as many people as I could by joining the SBU South Asian Student Organization and Bengalis Unite Stony Brook. I also underwent training for the Red Watch Band organization to help prevent toxic overdoes from alcohol poisoning. I got certified in Mental Health First Aid by completing an 8-hour training led by Omar Shareef and Sayed Bhuiyan at SBU.
