Softheon features numerous opportunities for students right on campus

According to their website , Softheon is “motivated to solve the biggest challenges in the healthcare industry by creating simple solutions to complex problems.” The company supports their clients, tracks performance data and manages administrative tasks — and the best part is the company can be found right on campus. 

Wonje Kang, a former graduate from Stony Brook University, currently works on the Softheon Lighthouse. “There are a lot of chances to learn something new and there are friendly and enthusiastic co-workers,” Kang said. 

Currently, Softheon has 59 out of about 200 employees that have graduated from Stony Brook University. Careers at Softheon include becoming a business analyst, campus recruiter, helpdesk technician, junior systems administrator, sales analyst, software engineer and many other opportunities. Conveniently, Softheon is located on campus offering both internships and jobs to students while giving them the opportunity to balance their schedules.

In 2019, Softheon was ranked the 14th fastest-growing company on Crain’s New York Business Fast 50 list, as the company grew from a $2.8 million revenue in 2015 to a $61.3 million revenue in 2018, showing a high growth rate. 

Similarly, in 2018, Softheon was included on the Top 100 Internship Program list by WayUp. Interning at Softheon is comprised of a 10-week program, where interns work on department-specific projects and participate in classes taught through the Softheon University program that are focused on healthcare and business. 

Softheon also has a work culture of working to make a life, not just a living. In terms of the growth, Softheon provides opportunities like LinkedIn Learning access to tuition reimbursement. Ensuring that the wellbeing of their employees is also taken care of, Softheon provides weekly meditation sessions in order to reduce work stress. 

Sam Zurl, former graduate from Stony Brook University, currently works on Foundry, Softheon's data analytics and reporting platform. “My favorite part about working at Softheon is being able to learn so many different things in such a short amount of time,” he said.
