In partnership with several clubs and organizations on campus, the Career Center hosted “An Evening With The Industry Pros” on October 27. The event consisted of a Q&A with a panel of various employers from different industries.
The panel included Paul Nicholson, the Senior Vice President of Production at Showtime Networks; Sharon Chen, an analyst at Treasury & Chief Investment Office at JPMorgan Chase; Meghan Lewis, a Scrum Master at Bloomberg LP and Michael Gorelik, the Upfronts Lead at Google.
Nicholson spoke about what the priorities are in terms of the hiring structure when it comes to production and technology. Chen was able to discuss how a business degree has versatility and can be applied to any field. Students were also able to learn about important career skills, networking tips and how to follow their career path with passion.
“The event was a great success,” Dabney Villasenor, a marketing intern at the Career Center said. “The combined efforts between the Career Center and the collaborating organizations paid off as students had the unique opportunity to ask accomplished professionals their pressing questions. The panelists from Google, Showtime, JP Morgan and Bloomberg were very knowledgeable in their fields and I'm certain their insight will have a lasting impact on attendees.”
