Welcome to Stony Brook University's College of Business.
Congratulations on your decision to pursue your MBA degree at Stony Brook!

Mark Your Calendar for MBA orientation , taking place virtually on Wedneday, August 18th from 8:00 - 11:00 am on Zoom.  At orientation you will get a chance to meet your new classmates, faculty & staff members, and other special guests.

Please complete this form to register for the program:   Orientation RSVP.

Please view this welcome video from Dr. Lily Blocker, Co-Director of the MBA Program and Associate Professor of Management:

This orientation is designed to be an event where you will be able to get your questions about the program answered, as well as engage with one another. Faculty from the various areas will be represented, as well as advisors, alumni, and associates from the Career Center. We want to get to know you and allow you the opportunity to get to know the community that you will be spending the next 1 to 2 years with, so we plan to keep the "lecture" portion of the orientation to a minimum.

Attached is a  Pre-orientation  PowerPoint for your review. This will get you started with the program and provide answers to questions such as:

  • What are SOLAR, NetID and Blackboard?
  • Where do I park?
  • How do I get my ID card?
  • When and how do I register for classes?
  • Where can I find information on important dates and deadlines?

Many of your questions will be answered in the PPT so it is a good idea to save this for future reference. And, at orientation there will be fun opportunites to earn prizes based on your knowledge of this material.

One extremely important note: From this point forward all University notifications and emails will be sent to your Stony Brook email address. Please access this account and set up your forwarding preferences if you would rather have emails sent to your personal email account. You can sign in at:  stonybrook.edu/mycloud Use your NetID and password to log in  (you can find this on SOLAR)

After reading through the PPT presentation, please bring any additional questions to orientation. There will likely be other new students with the same questions. We will try our best to answer them but if anything goes unanswered or you think of it after the fact, you can always email us at cobgraduate@stonybrook.edu.
