Politics
Imagine…running for office. Or, more likely at first, working for someone who is. Do you have what it takes to mobilize the masses? Successful campaigns tell a story, and they do it nimbly. If you want to change the world, no matter what role you play in a campaign, writing will be part of it. There are speeches to give (and write), but also letters to constituents, talking points for supporters, policy papers and platforms, press releases for journalists, communications with allied groups, with voters, with volunteers that appear in print, on social media post, and as speech--the same story, told and retold, a thousand different ways.
If you’re intrigued by politics, you’ll need your storytelling chops--and an Aristotelian capacity to appeal to pathos, ethos and logos.
