Challenge Exams - Languages

For taking challenge exams for Asian languages, the first step is to  carefully  read this site:

FALL 2019 Exam Coordinator:  Tingda (Hannah) Li

Exam Dates:  LEVEL 1 & 2 (100 & 200 level):  Friday, October 11,  2019, 11:00-1:00 pm.  Location: Harriman Hall 116
                          LEVEL 3 (for 300 level): Friday, October 11, 2019, 2:00-4:00 pm.  Location: Javits Lecture Hall 111


Bengali, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi and Tamil

The Challenge Exam consists of four parts: speaking, understanding, reading and writing.  If you do not read or write the exam language, you cannot take the Challenge Exam.  You will have to learn to read and write the language in order to take the Challenge Exam. The level expected in the exam is that of someone graduating from high school. The exam is given once each semester and cannot be taken during the final exam period or at any other time. Speak with your major/minor adviser to assure that you meet the language requirement before graduation.

* These are the ONLY dates the Challenge Exam will be given during Fall semester 2019.  The exam will NOT be given at the end of the semester or during exam week.  The exam will not be given again until Spring 2020.
