Nari Kovalski

Biography

Nari Kovalski is a lecturer of Asian and Asian American Studies and teaches a Korean language course in Stony Brook University. She was born and raised in South Korea.  She has a B.S. degree in psychology and a M.S degree in Post-Secondary Adult Education.  She taught both online and traditional courses at Atlantic Cape Community College, NJ and Ocean County College, NJ.   She wrote a training manual for new adjunct instructors, "Teaching Manual for New Adjunct Faculty."  Currently, she is interested in course development for both traditional and online courses. She is the owner of Nari K. Consulting LLC that was established in 2013.  Her presentation topics in several conferences are: "Developing Practical Strategies in Active Learning." Presentation at Engaging Learners in the 21st Century, Mercer County Community College, NJ (August 21st, 2013) and "Implementing Learner-Centered and Web-Enhanced Teaching in Developmental Studies." Presentation at Faculty of the Future, Bucks County Community College Conference, PA (June 1, 2012). Her teaching philosophy concentrates in "learner-centered" and emphasizes the integration of technology in an active learning classroom.
