J. Caity Swanson
Adjunct Lecturer

Jennifer C. Swanson

J. Caity Swanson is a PhD candidate who focuses on the power of literary representation in the face of overwhelming challenges, particularly those posed by climate change and US militarism. In her dissertation, which examines how the literary imagination in the US has been shaped by the routine and everyday qualities of 21st–century warfare, she argues that the key to changing our increasingly militarized world lies in the imagery and metaphors we use to describe it. Caity completed the Cultural Analysis and Theory certificate and was an active participant in the Environmental Humanities Faculty Development Seminar. You can find her on Humanities Commons.
