Szakmary Chase is a multidisciplinary artist, engaging in writing, painting, sculpture, installation, and performance. His research is concerned with new structuralism and mythologies of modernism; centering his practice on ideas of narrative and themes of young-adult fiction. He culls his subject matter from memory, working through a state of play and intuitive gestures. He holds a Master of Arts degree with first-class distinction honors from Chelsea College of the Arts, University of the Arts, London, and a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors, from Boston University. He is the recipient of a merit scholarship to the Southampton Screenwriters Conference and is currently pursuing his Master of Fine Arts degree at Stony Brook University. His artwork has been exhibited in London, New York, and Amsterdam and is in private collections in New York, London, and Bermuda. Chase has professional experience in television and film production, commercial insurance, and freelance writing. He currently teaches undergraduate courses at Stony Brook University and conducts his practice out of Long Island, New York.
