Carol Kessler

Ms. Kessler is a consultant in international security issues. From 2011-2014, she was Chair of the Department of Nonproliferation & National Security at Brookhaven National Laboratory, which carried out scientific research on nonproliferation and homeland security. From 2003-2010, Ms. Kessler directed the Pacific Northwest Center for Global Security at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.

Ms. Kessler was Deputy Director General of the Nuclear Energy Agency at the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development in Paris, France from 2001-2003, managing personnel, business operations, and nuclear safety and nuclear liability matters.

Ms. Kessler worked for the U.S. Department of State from 1988-2001 on nuclear nonproliferation and international nuclear safety. She represented the U.S. in the G-7 initiative to close the Chernobyl reactor.

Ms. Kessler has a B.A. from Brown University in Bio-geology, an M.S. from MIT in Technology and Policy, and an M.S. in National Security Studies from the U.S. National War College.
