All tutoring and peer assisted learning services will be offered online, using Zoom , for the fall 2020 semester.
For more information about our Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) program, click here.
The scheduling system will open at 9:30am on Monday, August 31st. The first day of tutoring will be the following Tuesday, September 8th. (That Monday is a holiday!)
A list of courses that are supported by ASTC tutoring will be posted at the start of the fall semester.
On Friday, September 4th at 4:45pm, you will be able to see the entire semester of availability and will be able to book one-time appointments. You will also no longer be limited to 1 appointment per course. At that time, appointments will no longer be converted to weekly for you. Instead, you will need to click through the schedule and book one-time appointments every week. You can also email the ASTC and ask that your appointment be converted to a weekly, if available.
All students are encouraged to attend professor and TA office hours for extra support. If there is an associated Learning Center, Help Room, or drop-in tutoring service, students are encouraged to attend those as well.

Cancel your appointment through Navigate at least 5 hours in advance of your appointment start time. If you fail to do so, you will receive a “no show” for the appointment. After 2 “no-shows”, all future tutoring appointments will be cancelled and you will be blocked from scheduling new appointments.
If you frequently cancel your appointments, even if it is at least 5 hours in advance, the ASTC reserves the right to cancel future appointments and open them for other students to book.If you have an extenuating circumstance, please let us know by emailing TutoringCenter@stonybrook.edu. Please do not expect us to see the message you write in Navigate when cancelling the appointment. That message is meant for your tutor.
You will need to cancel the appointment you cannot attend a t least 5 hours in advance of your appointment start time and then schedule an entirely new appointment on Navigate . If your tutor does not have open availability, you can meet with a different tutor. Please do not contact your tutor directly and ask to reschedule; they are not able to do so.
