Ming Huang, Assistant Dean for budget Stony Brook University

Ming has served as the Assistant Dean for Budget at the College of Arts and Sciences since 2013, where she manages the college’s budget with a commitment to optimal resource planning and cost-effectiveness. Throughout her tenure, she has guided the college through favorable and challenging financial situations, earning trust and building strong relationships across departments through her collegiality and integrity.

An alumna of Stony Brook University, Ming obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the institution and feels a great sense of belonging to the university community.

Outside of her professional role, Ming enjoys spending time with her family, which includes her husband, twin daughters, and two beloved cats.

 

Ming's role at the Dean's Office include:

  • Interdepartmental & Intradepartmental allocation transfers
  • Expense journal transfers, training on SUNY accounting & financial procedures, course fees, IFR rate structures, IFR Accruals, RF salary offset,
    RF awards, departmental budget analysis (year to date comparison of budget vs. actual)
  • Financial strategic planning, and resource management
