Fueling the success of our student-athletes
Fueling the success of our student-athletes
Our NCAA Division 1 Seawolves athletic teams are a tremendous source of pride, establishing a winning tradition that unites and excites our campus community. They also serve a uniquely powerful role in elevating the brand and reputation of Stony Brook, forging relationships on behalf of the university on a local, regional, national and global level.
With the support of our fans and friends, we will ensure continued Seawolves success, contending for conference championships and securing NCAA postseason appearances. Along the way, we are committed to providing our student-athletes with transformative life experiences that complement their academic pursuits and prepare them for success in every aspect of their lives. In doing so, we will hold ourselves to the highest standards of integrity, sportsmanship and respect on and off of the field, cultivating an inclusive environment for all.
“We will work together as a staff to achieve our aspirations and promote our vision to positively transform the life of each student-athlete. Our university is one of the nation’s premier public research institutions and it deserves a premier intercollegiate athletics program.”

“It seems like every time I come back there’s something else. It blows me away, and surprises me, and I can’t believe how much this school has grown. It’s fun to be a part of and fun to watch.” Joe Nathan ’97, Hon. ’13, Major League Baseball all-star pitcher
Develop Culture of Philanthropy and Financial Support
“I’m honored and couldn’t be more proud to be a Stony Brook alum and to give back to the school. It has meant so much to me and to my family.” Glenn Dubin ’78, Hon. ’12
Competing for Championships and National Prominence:
The men’s basketball team made history this year by winning their first-ever America East title and earning their first trip to the NCAA Men’s Division 1 Basketball Championship Tournament. Led by a trio of seniors, this year’s team experienced a season of unprecedented success and honors.
Seven Stony Brook teams graduate student-athletes at a higher rate than the national average of other Division I institutions, according to a NCAA report published in November 2015.
