Sophia Chen, Intern

Class of 2028 Major: Psychology B.A Minor: China Studies I became interested in being an intern for the department after a classmate of mine introduced this internship to me. I had already developed a positive impression about the department because every faculty member I have met is incredibly knowledgeable, kind and truly wants you to succeed. I can’t wait to conduct interviews and contribute to the already close-knit community. A fun fact about myself is that I recently had the opportunity to study abroad in Shanghai. Angie Choe, Lead Intern

Class of 2027 Majors: Business Management (Operations Specialization) and Art History & Criticism Minor: China Studies Minor The AAAS department gave me so much when it came to having events that promote cultural diversity in a fun and educational way, providing courses that dive into so many topics that are overlooked in high school history curriculum, and expanding my community to amazing faculty and students who are driven to uplift the people around them. I hope that I can connect students to many opportunities and to the department as a whole.

Sasha Lovitz, Intern

Class of 2027 Major: Biology and Sociology Minor: Asian and Asian American Studies & Writing and Rhetoric I became an intern with the Asian and Asian American Studies Department to be more involved. I’ve really enjoyed the classes I’ve taken and the topics I’ve been able to explore, so I wanted to find a way to contribute to the department as well. Through this internship, I hope to get to know more of the faculty and students, become more involved with department events and projects, and help other students learn about the opportunities AAS has to offer. I also hope to use my experience with writing, social media, and student organizations to help the department reach and connect with more students on campus. A fun fact about me is that I can play 4 instruments: piano, violin, viola, and guitar!
