"I believe the most valuable thing someone can do for their career development is speaking to other successful people, both in and out of their field, and learning from their experiences.  At each stage of my academic career, the Alumni Association has continuously made efforts to provide me with opportunities to connect with fellow graduates at all stages of their career, to share their perspectives and experiences, and learn from one another. Joining the Alumni Association is a critical step to ensuring that you are continuously getting the most out of your Stony Brook experience - creating opportunities to not only advance your own post-graduate pursuits but to eventually give back to the next generation of Seawolves." - James Vassallo

Student Organizations

We are pleased to partner with student organizations to keep their alumni engaged and to collaborate on signature student-alumni networking events. The Office of Alumni Relations will also assist your student organization with finding outstanding alums to participate as guest speakers and to sit on panel discussions.

The Alumni Lecture Series is a distinguished alumni speaker series featuring Stony Brook University alumni sharing their knowledge and success in various professional fields. We are proud to introduce and showcase our alumni speakers and highlight their work and accomplishments. The goal is to bring successful and prominent alumni to campus to share their experience and wisdom with students and fellow alumni and to provide networking opportunities. Alumni speakers inspire and influence students by sharing their experiences, and may extend their lecture to an Alumni Day of Residency for a more interactive experience. The series is designed for students and alumni to hear how alumni have excelled since graduating from Stony Brook University. The Office of Alumni Relations provides students and alumni with opportunities to hear alumni speak about their school experiences and how leadership, mentoring and networking have played critical roles in their professional careers. Alumni speakers are business owners, entrepreneurs and corporate and non-profit executives.
