Alda Center’s Holesovsky Joins Board of Science Communication Trainers Network

Claire HolesovskyClaire Holesovsky, the science communication specialist at the Alda Center for Communicating Science, was recently selected for the board of the Science Communication Trainers Network (SCTN). She will assume her new role this month.

“Since I joined the Network more than a year ago, I’ve admired its commitment to building trust, fostering innovation and bringing together diverse perspectives and experiences,” said Holesovsky. “I’m eager to join the board to help expand the network’s impact on the critically important field of science communication in inclusive, accessible and engaging ways.”

The Network, formed in 2018, exists to build connection and collaboration across organizations and individuals who help scientists and other researchers communicate more effectively with individuals outside their area of expertise.

Previously, Holesovsky served on one of the organization’s task forces. She led the group responsible for creating a survey of existing science communication training organizations, with the goal of inviting them to join and engage with others through the network.

At the Alda Center, Holesovsky created and runs The Link, a platform that shares the latest science communication research in approachable ways. Through webinars, blog posts and podcasts, The Link is a resource for other science communicators and for those who are simply interested in learning more about science communication. It is supported by The Kavli Foundation.

“I am thrilled that Claire will join the SCTN board this year,” said Chloe Poston, one of the current board members. “We are confident that she will bring a critical perspective to our ongoing discussions and will add significantly to our strategic direction.”
