Sue Ryan, an assistant professor at Stony Brook University, brings over 30 years of elite coaching experience to her role. She transformed Stony Brook's women's soccer program from Division III to a successful Division I program, accumulating 229 victories. Ryan has served as an assistant coach for the U-17 U.S. Women's Youth National Team and has led the Region I Girls' Olympic Development Program for over 25 years.
One of few female coaches to earn the United States Soccer Federation's "A" license, Ryan has received numerous distinctions, including the NSCAA Women's Committee Award of Excellence and the NCAA's Judith M. Sweet Award. Her player development expertise has helped place over 25 young women on various U.S. Women's National Teams.
Ryan holds a master's degree from Stony Brook University and played Division I soccer at SUNY Cortland, where she helped capture the 1980 United States Women's National Championship.
