Steven Riccobono

Steve Riccobono serves as the Assistant Vice President of Human Resources at the Pratt Institute, where he is responsible for all aspects of HR with a team of 13 Human Resource Professionals. Pratt Institute is a unionized environment with five different collective bargaining units.

With over 25 years of experience in Human Resources, he has worked in a Fortune 50© company, consulting company, and technology companies in both international and domestic human resource departments, as well as the last 10 years in higher education. Steve's core background is in compensation, both domestic and international, including systems and incentives (bonuses, sales, and equity plans). He has also led several HRIS implementations over the course of his HR career. 

For over 13 years, Steve has taught in the Graduate Human Resource Management program at Stony Brook University. Steve's courses include History of Labor Relations, employee Relations and Labor Management, Organizational Development and Change Management, Foundations of Human Resources, Job Evaluation, Compensation systems and Benefits, Human Relations, and Workforce Planning. He developed and taught Business Analytics for Effective HR Leadership. Steve has also co-presented at the National CUPA-HR conference in 2018 on Engagement Surveys.

Steve holds a bachelor's degree in Government and Politics from St. John's University and a master's degree in Industrial Labor Relations from City University of New York's Baruch College. He currently holds certifications from HRCI and SHRM as an SPHR© and SHRM-SCP©. Steve is also a certified Social Style© and Versatility instructor and a Certified Gallup Strengths Coach©.
